This is an age of spiritual disillusionment. Once isolated religions, cults and individual beliefs are now all available via the information highway, wiring our living room sanctuary to the far corners of a divergent planet. Because of this, we are discovering thousands of new and conflicting ways of looking at ourselves and the universe resulting in a loss of spiritual identity, and for many, a loss of faith.

In this new age of technology and science, we will see things our forefathers could only dream of. Yet computers, DVD and the latest design in toaster ovens, no matter how entertaining and cool, cannot feed the spiritual part of us. In fact, cramming our lives with things serves only to increase emptiness and the feeling of lost identity. In response, people are spending millions of dollars on phone-in psychics and on-line fortune tellers seeking spiritual meaning and direction in a wired world.

Millions of people all over the world are looking to the New Age Movement for spiritual direction, acceptance and love. Legions have come out of organized religion dismayed and discouraged. Religion could not soothe the spiritual ache in man's soul. The New Age Movement would make them feel like part of a family, provide a holistic approach to their needs. The success and growth of the New Age Movement in North America is a direct result of the church's inability to fulfill the ministry of Christ. Jesus touched the leper, the social outcast. He became personally and emotionally involved with the brokenhearted speaking into their souls words of love, hope and acceptance. Unlike the Pharisees who would only point, judge high above the reach of the suffering and cloister themselves behind walls of religiosity. When the church becomes ineffective in an area of Christ's ministry, it will create a spiritual vacuum which evil will gladly fill. It is the oldest trick in the book—create a major crisis, then as a knight in shining armor, rescue the world from the crisis. This is exactly what Satan is doing and will ultimately accomplish this as Antichrist. When the Antichrist comes onto the scene, he will be politically and ecologically correct. He will bring world peace, religious unity, and feed the hungry. An Angel of Light. In all the problems he has spawned within society, he will present himself as being the sole solution.

The New Age Movement believe that in the present millennium, we have entered the Age of Aquarius, a New World Order. Mankind will experience a great evolution that will force us to lay down prejudice and religious bias, coming together as a single god consciousness. Together we shall become God.

The New Age Movement is a form of Pantheism. Pantheists believes that God is the sum total of all that exists. They strongly support the idea of a one world government, since global unity is vital to the free flow of the god force. A one world government would allow the natural evolution of human kind. Before there can be world unity, dogmatic Christianity must be dismantled. Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians, unified in perfect love and harmony. Each, a valid and viable path to God. With this new god-consciousness, we will be able to work together against the true evils of society, selfishness, and religious bias which has produced wars, hate and the raping of the natural world. This worldwide unification will be led by the loving, but firm hands of a single man. A man who has found his inner karma, achieved Christ consciousness, reached Nirvana, attained harmonic convergence with the universe and become a portal for the great spirit guides. He is the noble prophet, the chosen one to usher mankind into the Age of Aquarius. And the only force that will stand in his way is a small, rag–tag bunch of close-minded Christian interest groups running around proclaiming, He’s the Devil. He’s the Antichrist.

Christians have been given three measuring rods by God to determine what is true and false. The voice of conscience, the written Word and the Holy Spirit our Councilor, leading us into all truth. Three voices that sing in perfect harmony. Voices that can be drowned out and ignored. Thousands politically–correct scientists and spiritualists, proclaim in union—It is right. And one squeaky frail voice at the back of the crowd proclaims—It is sin! It is a powerful force when a whole society believes that something is right.

Books have been written by Christian leaders warning of the New Age Movement’s seductive teaching. We are told not to associate with such evil people for fear that we may become deceived. Fear is worn like a shield of protection, causing us to become completely ineffective in letting the love of Christ shine to a spiritually hungry people. Is our faith so fragile that we must hide behind church doors where we feel comfortable in familiar surroundings? Jesus says go into all the world, not run away from it. The rampant growth of the New Age Movement in North America is the offspring of our own spiritual apathy. Instead of judging people from the New Age Movement, Jehovah's Witnesses, or Mormons, we are to fearlessly reach out with the love and truth of Jesus and touch their lives.
